Norton Internet Security set up for Bourse application
Note: Modifying your firewall in ways other than specified here may leave your computer vulnerable to attacks.
Older versions of Norton Internet Security may not look exactly like these screenshots.
- Look for the "Globe" icon in system tray (at the bottom right hand of the screen)
- Right-click on the Norton Globe icon
Click "Norton Internet Security"
- Select "Personal Firewall"
- Click the "Configure" button
- Click Programs tab
- Click the Add button
- You'd get the "Select a program" window (as below)
- Click the drop down arrow in the "Look in" box to search for the Bourse application file
- Select "bda6" from the directory of C:\BourseData\TheBourse6
Click the Open button
- You'd get the below screen
- Select "Manually configure Internet access" under "What do you want to do?"
Click the OK button
- Select "Permit"
Click Next
- Select "Connections to and from other computers"
Click Next
- Select "Any Computer"
Click Next
- Select "TCP" and "Only the types of communication or ports listed below"
Click Add button
- Select "Individually specified ports" and "Remote"
Enter 8372 in the box as shown
Click OK button
- Click the Add button
- Select "Individually specified ports" and "Local"
Enter "8372" in the box as shown
Click OK
- Click Next
- "Create an event log entry" and "Notify me with a Security Alert" are optional.
You don't have to check them.
Click Next
- Select General
Click Next
- Click Next
- Your Rule should now follow the criteria in this image. If
this is correct, click Finish, or click Back to modify your preferences.
- Click the OK button
