Our Commitment to Protecting Your Privacy

Introduction

Bourse Data Pty Ltd A.C.N. 101 774 234 has developed this statement in accordance with the National Privacy Principles to demonstrate our firm commitment to privacy, integrity and ethical practices. The following information discloses our data collection and distribution policies for the Bourse Software, Bourse Data System and the websites: www.bourseinvestor.com, and www.boursedata.com.au

In this statement, unless the context requires otherwise:

  1. Bourse Software means:

    • the object code versions of the computer programs owned by Bourse Data .

    • any upgrades of, or supplements to, those programs and systems provided by Bourse Data from time to time; and

    • o any associated media, printed materials, manuals and "online" or electronic documentation.

  2. Bourse Data System means the computer programs, servers and systems owned by Bourse Data able to be accessed by use of the Bourse Software, being a communications and analytical computer-based system that permits the access, analysis and manipulation of Derived Information.

  3. Derived Information means all data and other information provided by Bourse Data, or its Affiliates, accessible through use of the Bourse Data System.

How We Protect Your Privacy

All current and potential Bourse Data customers are assured of a high level of privacy protection, when visiting our website or when accessing the Bourse Data System. At Bourse Data, we understand that the security of your account information, and any information that personally identifies you, is important.

As far as practicable, Bourse Data ensures that unauthorised people cannot access secure data through our website or servers. Our servers use encryption and authentication to protect your sensitive information. Our staff members also follow confidentiality policies that are designed to protect your personal privacy.

At Bourse Data:

  1. We promote information privacy principles and fair information practices.

  2. We do not gather highly sensitive information (such as race, sexual preferences or religious beliefs) about any person.

  3. We do not collect, store, use or disclose identifiers that any government agency has assigned to a person (such as a Tax File Number) for any purpose, other than in compliance with government law.

  4. We do not collect, store, use or disclose personal or domestic credit information about individuals, except in compliance with the credit reporting provisions of the Privacy Act.

  5. We do not sell or lease personal customer information to anyone, nor do we buy or rent personal information from third parties.

  6. We do not disclose personal information about you as an individual (such as your name or postal address) to any third party, unless the law requires us, it is in the public interest, we have your permission, or in accordance with point 9 below.

  7. We use personal information in ways that are consistent with the purposes for which we originally requested.

  8. We limit the collection and use of personal information to what is necessary to administer our business and to deliver world-class service to you.

  9. We may disclose your personal information to external service providers that provide services for the purposes of our business, on a confidential basis, for example the distributor or an agent of the distributor from whom you obtained the Bourse Software and with whom we have a current Re-Seller Agreement, mailing houses and IT support providers.

  10. We do reserve the right to report personal information in the limited circumstances where we believe, in good faith, that disclosure is required to cooperate with regulating or law enforcement authorities, to collect or report debts owed to us, and to protect our rights or property.

Information Collected By Bourse Data

What Information Is Transferred When Users Access Our Servers?

Customers can choose to register for special services on our website. These services may require that they supply demographic and profile information. Personal information is not shared with partners and is used solely to customise our service for your needs.

Bourse Data collects statistical data of user behaviour in order to measure interest in the various areas of our website for development purposes. We do not link users' names or addresses with the data we collect for statistical purposes. Collective usage information from all our users helps us to provide and improve our products and services. Collective information may be shared with our partners.

We may also make use of user IP addresses to help analyse problems with our server, to administer our website and to gather broad demographic information. When visiting our website, a record of the user's visit is logged. Information supplied by their browser may include the server address, operating system, the date and time of the visit, pages accessed and the type of browser used.

We do not link IP addresses to anything personally identifiable. Unless the user chooses to log in as a member, no attempt is made to identify users.

Our servers use cookies to handle member logins and permit authorised users to access several web servers without re-authenticating. Email Queries

email query forms on our website require you to supply your email address. This information is not stored, nor is there any attempt made to link this information, with any other personal information. We simply use this information to provide you with an accurate and prompt response.

Bourse Data will use your email address, and the contents of any email, for correspondence purposes, to provide you with the best customer care possible and to meet our legal requirements concerning customer communications.

Registration Forms

Voluntary registration forms on our website request users to provide us with contact as well as demographic information. In order to register for some of the features on our site, an email address needs to be supplied. The user's email address is used to contact the new user during signup and is initially placed on our mailing list (see Subscriptions section below). We do not pass on any email addresses to a third party without the user's permission.

Unique information is stored to verify the user's identity for future access to particular services. For some of these services, we will also hold data that you enter, so that you do not need to re-key the information when you next visit the service. We will only hold this personal data where you have registered and been issued with an ID and Password.

We can enhance our service to you if we learn about what you like and do not like. We use the information you provide, during voluntary registration, to tailor the service to your specific interests

You can use our site to correct/update your registration information at any time.

Subscriptions

When customers use registration forms to access specific facilities on our website or activate their Bourse Account, they need to provide contact information. This information is used to contact the customer when necessary by telephone, email or in writing by post.

The registered customer is subscribed to our mailing list. Bourse Data maintains this mailing list to provide important notices to customers about our services and to keep customers up-to-date with developments.

You can use our website to correct/update your email address at any time.

External Links

Access to Partner Facilities and Services

Some of the facilities provided by the Bourse Software and by our website are co-branded with business partners. When a user requests these facilities for the first time, authenticated access to servers that are controlled by our business partners may be required.

To fulfil this request, we supply the user's authentication data to the business partner. When the registration data contains information that could be used to identify the user, Bourse Data requires that the business partner does not disclose this information to third parties.

Advertisements and Third-Party Sites

The Bourse Software and our website may contain links to sites and resources that are maintained by third parties. If you choose to visit these, please note that Bourse Data is not responsible for the privacy practices, content or availability of such sites or resources, and does not endorse or is liable for any content, advertising, products, or other documentation available from these third-party sites or resources. Bourse Data is not responsible, directly or indirectly, for any damage or loss caused or alleged to be caused by or in connection with the use of or reliance on any such content or services available on these sites or resources.

Security

To ensure the appropriate use of information and protect against the loss, misuse or alteration of information under our control, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic and managerial procedures to protect the information we collect online.

To protect you, we also make the following recommendations.

Your Password

Your password should not be shared with anyone. You can use our site to change your password at any time.

Logging Out

After you have finished accessing your account, remember to log out! This ensures that no one can access your personal information if you leave your computer, and your session has not timed out yet.

Sending Emails

email is an important communication channel for our online customers. All emails relating to your own issues, or your own Bourse account, should only be sent by you.
