Whether you are new to investing, or an experienced trader, CommSec offers a wide range of online trading services. You can use CommSec for all ASX exchange traded securities - shares, options or warrants - while keeping your costs to a minimum.
Save on brokerage fees
By trading through CommSec, you can save on brokerage and trading costs, giving you more money to invest.
- Brokerage is flat, so you only pay $33 for all trades up to 1 million dollars.
- Plus, with each contract note you can trade up to six price levels. This means you can buy a stock multiple times as long as they it remains between six price levels and under 1 million in value.
- Contingent orders are free. So you can lock in profits by placing a stop loss order or choose to buy a stock when it's on the rise, giving you more control over your investment strategy.
- Use your account to trade options online. Not only can you buy options, but CommSec also offers covered call writing as well, giving you the ability to implement options trading strategies online, such as buy and write.
Web Iress Software charges a fixed rate of $11.00 (incl GST) per month, but only if you log on to your CommSec Bourse Trade account.

Web Iress Software Fee: This is a royalty and software fee charged for clients who use software supplied by Iress Market Technology – maximum $38.50 per month.
Platform Data Fee: This is an ASX royalty fee charged at 2.53 cents per minute during 9:30am-5:00pm weekdays capped at $38.50 for live ASX prices or $49.50 for ASX and Options market prices.
This fee is only payable if the trading service is used that calendar month. If you do not access the platform, then no fee is payable. |

There are three parts to creating your CommSec Bourse Trade Account. To proceed, simply click the links at each step.
A: Organise your Cash Management Trust (CMT) Account
B: Organise your CommSec Bourse Trade Account
C: Send all Signed and Completed Forms to CommSec
Once your account has been opened, you will be advised by email of your username and password. To start trading through The Bourse, go to the [Bourse Links] menu and select [Trade Online]. Enter your username and password and away you go. If you need instructions using Bourse Trade, click the Help button in the relevant Bourse Trade screen.
