Independence Group report fatality at its Nova Operation
Independence Group NL (ASX:IGO) suspended operations at its Nova Operation earlier this week after a fatality at the site.
The incident involved an employee of their concentrate haulage contractor who was injured on site and subsequently passed away yesterday in hospital as a result of his injuries.
The individual was securing the truck’s load prior to departure from site.
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety was immediately informed and visited the site to undertake an initial investigation.
An investigation is continuing.
Shares in Independence Group NL (ASX:IGO) are trading 0.8 per cent lower at $6.36.
