Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) director resigns

Downer EDI (ASX:DOW) Non-Executive director Annabelle Chaplain will retire at the conclusion of the company’s AGM on 7 November 2019.

Annabelle joined the Downer Board in July 2008 and the company has successfully navigated many challenges, and achieved significant growth, over the ensuing 11 years.

Downer says she has provided invaluable advice and leadership through her service on the Zero Harm Committee, Remuneration Committee and Nominations and Corporate Governance Committee, and she has played a particularly important role as the long term Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Commenting on Downer’s recent FY19 results, financial services firm Morningstar said despite a highly supportive macroeconomic environment in the past decade, Downer EDI's financial results were mixed, with strong profitability in one division often offset by losses in another.

Shares in Downer (ASX:DOW) are trading 0.51 per cent higher at $7.86.
