Falls in Financials lead market lower: ASX closes 2% lower

02 Apr 2020 - The ASX dropped at the open and is now tracking 2.9% lower at noon. Webjet (ASX:WEB) shares are on the rise – they successfully completed their $115 million institutional placement today. Shares in IDP Education (ASX:IEL) also rose. COVID-19 death toll climbs in the US: ASX poised to open lower

02 Apr 2020 - Following a slump on US markets, the ASX looks set to open lower. The US death toll rose to over 4,000. The Dow tumbled to near 1000 points. White House officials estimate that the COVID-19 outbreak will kill between 100,000 and 240,000 Americans this year, even with social distancing, business closures and other mitigation efforts.
