Wisetech Global shares fall as they enter a trading halt: ASX closes 0.8% lower

17 Oct 2019 - The ASX dropped at the open and failed to gain momentum closing 0.8% lower. Shares in Wisetech Global (ASX:WTC) slumped today - they have entered into a trading halt pending the release of an announcement on Monday. CIMIC Group company, (ASX:CIM) and wholly owned subsidiary of CPB Contractors, Broad Construction, has been selected by the Queensland Government to help build the new Secondary College in Brisbane.

IOOF shares up after ANZ drops pension business sale price: ASX tracking 0.4% lower at noon

17 Oct 2019 - The ASX dropped at the open and is now tracking 0.4% lower at noon. Shares in IOOF Holdings (ASX:IFL) are on the up after ANZ (ASX:ANZ) reduced the price for the sale of its OnePath Pensions and Investments business and Aligned Dealer Groups. City Chic Collective (ASX:CCX) has finalised the acquisition of the e-commerce assets of Avenue Stores in the United States.

Leading Index shows economic growth well below trend: ASX closes 1.3% higher

16 Oct 2019 - It has been a positive day of trade for the ASX, closing 1.3% higher. Silverlake (ASX:SLR) and Nearmap (ASX:NEA) shot up today. Shares in the Afterpay Touch Group (ASX:APT) slumped today. Westpac–MI Leading Index is showing economic growth rate is now well below trend after slipping further in September to its lowest level in four years. Sienna Cancer Diagnostics (ASX:SDX) CEO Matthew Hoskin will be stepping down.
